My wife and I both grew up visiting Yellowstone and Island Park with our families, so this area has always felt like home to us. Long before I experienced it myself, my dad spent his summers there with his dad, camping for weeks at Fishing Bridge. He shared those stories and memories with me growing up, and over time, he continued the tradition by bringing our family there too. Those experiences shaped my connection to this place, and it's something I've carried on with my own family.
My wife grew up in Sugar City, Idaho, just about an hour south of Island Park, and she has her own lifelong memories of camping, exploring, and enjoying everything this area has to offer. Over the years, those shared experiences became a big part of our lives together.
About seven years ago, after many seasons of camping, we decided to put down roots and buy a cabin of our own. That decision eventually became Lodgepole Pines Retreat.
When the cabin isn't rented, you'll usually find us there enjoying it ourselves—riding ATVs in the summer, snowmobiling in the winter, or just spending time outdoors with family. It's a place where we can slow down, unplug, and be together.
We don't claim to know everything about the area, but we've spent a lot of meaningful time here and are always happy to share what we've learned along the way. More than anything, we simply hope that when you stay here, you get to experience the same sense of peace, connection, and lasting memories that Island Park has given us over the years.
