Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your stay at Lodgepole Pines Retreat.

How many guests can the cabin accommodate?
Lodgepole Pines Retreat sleeps up to 12 guests comfortably across four bedrooms: a master bedroom with a queen bed, the Fish Room with a queen bed, the Moose Room with a double and a twin, and the loft with a double and two twins. There's also a bonus theatre room with an additional twin bed.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out may be available depending on the booking schedule — just ask and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately, we are unable to allow pets due to the owner's severe allergies. However, as required by law, we welcome official service animals (not emotional support animals). If you plan to bring a service animal, please let us know in advance so we can ensure a comfortable stay for everyone.
Is there WiFi at the cabin?
Yes! The cabin has high-speed WiFi throughout. It's reliable enough for streaming, video calls, and remote work. We also have multiple Smart TVs with Roku for streaming your favorite shows.
How far is the cabin from Yellowstone?
Lodgepole Pines Retreat is approximately 30 miles (about 45 minutes) from the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park via US-20. Grand Teton National Park is about 2 hours and 20 minutes away via the scenic route through Ashton, ID.
Is there cell phone service?
Cell service in Island Park is limited and unreliable. You'll have WiFi at the cabin, but coverage drops quickly once you're in the park or on trails. We strongly recommend downloading the free NPS app with offline maps before your trip.
What's the cancellation policy?
We offer a full refund if you cancel at least 30 days before check-in. Cancellations within 30 days of arrival are non-refundable. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your trip — plans are affordable and can cover unexpected cancellations, travel delays, and medical emergencies.
What amenities are included?
The cabin is fully equipped with a hot tub, outdoor fire pit, BBQ grill, full kitchen, washer/dryer, board games, foosball table, arcade game, life-size Connect 4, a projector theatre room, and much more. Linens, towels, and basic toiletries are provided. See our full amenities list for everything included.
Is there a minimum stay requirement?
Yes, we generally require a 2-night minimum stay. During peak seasons (holidays, summer weekends), a 3-night minimum may apply. Check the booking calendar for specific availability.
Where is the nearest grocery store?
The closest store is Sam Patch Co., about 15 minutes away. Most gas stations along US-20 also have small general stores with basic supplies. For a full grocery store, Ashton, ID is about 30 minutes south and West Yellowstone, MT is about 30 minutes north. We recommend stocking up before you arrive. Check our Food & Services guide for a complete list.
Can I book directly and save money?
Absolutely! When you book directly through our website, you save up to 10% compared to third-party platforms like Airbnb. No hidden fees, no middleman — just a better deal and direct communication with us.
Is the cabin accessible in winter?
Yes! The cabin is accessible year-round. In winter, the road is plowed regularly. The cabin has direct access to snowmobile trails, and the hot tub is especially magical under the snow. Just be sure to check road conditions before driving — Idaho winters can be unpredictable.
