Tips

Visit midday when the sun is directly overhead for the most vibrant colors. The main trailhead parking fills by 10 AM in summer — arrive early or come after 4 PM.

Take the boat shuttle ($18 round trip) to cut 4 miles off the hike. Start early — afternoon thunderstorms are common in summer. Carry bear spray.

Mystic Falls Trail
