Day 1 — Arrive in Island Park & Settle In

Most travelers fly into Idaho Falls (IDA), Bozeman (BZN), or Jackson Hole (JAC). Idaho Falls is the easiest — 90 minutes south of Island Park on US-20. Stop in Rexburg or Ashton to grocery shop. Spend the afternoon at Big Springs or Harriman State Park.

Day 2 — Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic & Geyser Basins

Leave by 7 AM. Visit Old Faithful and the Upper Geyser Basin boardwalk, then Grand Prismatic with the Fairy Falls Overlook. Afternoon: Norris Geyser Basin.

Day 3 — Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone & Hayden Valley

Drive to Canyon Village (~1h 45m). Artist Point, Uncle Tom's Trail, Brink of the Lower Falls, Inspiration Point. Afternoon wildlife drive through Hayden Valley.

Day 4 — Lamar Valley & Mammoth Hot Springs

Pre-dawn departure. Lamar Valley wildlife at dawn (wolves, grizzlies, bison). Tower Fall, Mammoth terraces, return via Norris.

Day 5 — Grand Teton Scenic Drive & Photo Stops

Day 6 — Jenny Lake, Hidden Falls & Cascade Canyon

Jenny Lake shuttle boat to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point. Continue into Cascade Canyon for moose and wildflowers. Easier alternatives: Taggart Lake or String Lake loop.

Day 7 — Island Park, Mesa Falls & Departure

Don't waste your last day driving. Slow morning, Mesa Falls Scenic Byway, optional fly fishing or ATV ride, then airport.
